NYU Langone Medical Center
Client: NYU Langone Medical Center
Challenge: Showcase an academic medical center as a patient-centric
Insight: Medical providers need to speak to their patients as people.
When the academic medical center NYU Langone approached Huge, they had a big digital problem. Over the past two decades, their lack of a governance model had allowed internal stakeholders from various departments and divisions to launch and maintain, in varying degrees of effectiveness, more than 270 sites. We developed a brand new patient experience, featuring modern designs and innovative functionality designed to conform to patient needs, rather than forcing patients to navigate a complicated array of sites.
I later drew upon my experience from this project as a panelist at the event Content Strategy for Healthcare: Creating and Consuming Content for Everyone.
Interviews with over 35 stakeholders within the organization
Creating a taxonomy for conditions, containing both lay terms and medical terms for conditions treated at the Medical Center to support condition search and filtering experience
Designing a sitewide content model and information architecture, including profiles for medical providers and editorial content united by values from the conditions thesaurus, and collaboration with engineering team to implement content model in content management system
Conducting workshops for sitemap development, content planning and content development
Recommendations for semantic markup standards
